Mediterranean Cruise

We have just returned from our first Cruise - and it was wonderful. We went in a group of 8 (school friends celebrating a big birthday!) and I already want to book my next one. Here is the the ship docked in Alexandria, Egypt.

Elephants and buzzards!

This is the card Ive made for a friend at work who gave me a fabulous journal from paperchase to take on my cruise!

A very weird thing happened as DH and I where finishing our dog walk this morning. We were in the woods next door to our house when we heard crashing of branches and wings madly flapping and saw a huge bird (and I'm not exaggerating when I say huge) get caught up in the trees, free himself and sit on a tree a few feet from us, regaining his composure. When we got home we looked him up in the bird book and he was a common Buzzard! Not sure who was more shocked him or us!

SAH Robin

Ive been inspired to add dots to the next part of the Stay at Home Round Robin. Some of the pieces that are on display on Kate's website are fantastic. So dots it had to be! I have only used bondaweb on them at this stage - I will do something fantastic when I quilt the end piece (and with my holiday fast approaching I wanted to get something done, so I don't get left behind).

Jewellery roll

At least it stopped raining today for a short time anyway!!! I decided I needed a jewellery roll to carry all my shiny bits and pieces (I'm off on holiday soon and its the first time I've ever needed to dress up every evening so might as well take all my finest jewellery with me). Didn't really know what I wanted or indeed what to do, but I'm quite pleased with the end result, only thing is I probably should have made it slightly longer, with more pockets! (not that I'm suggesting I've got bags of bling of course)

Pinch and Punch

Pinch and a punch for the first day of the month! I can't believe we are in October already. Its a wet and windy day here in Hampshire. I walked the dog up the lane this morning and my neighbour had a box of windfall apples at the gate, with a help yourself sign. So today has turned into windfall marmalade making day. And here is a photograph to show the end result. Granted it took rather longer than anticipated to make - setting point took an hour and a half rather than the 20 minutes the recipe stated, but Oh the sense of satisfaction!!!! Beside which I managed to get on with some sewing also.
