A Peacocks Garden
After me posting yesterday to say I couldn't get enough band width on the internet to post a photo, today I've managed!! So here is a picture of Pete the Peacock. Some progress has been made but I have unfortunately nearly run out of the light green on the top of his feathers. I knew I was getting low so bought the equivalent DMC thread but as it turns out it is several shades different, so I will have to wait until I can find somewhere that sells Anchor threads! I also removed the bright green that was supposed to highlight his long neck but I just didn't like it and I much prefer the pale blue.

Internet problems!
I just wanted to post a note to say I'm still here, busy stitching my peacock! Unfortunately the internet where I am is dreadful and very hit and miss as to getting on line and as for posting photos, absolutely no chance! But I will be back.

A Peacocks Garden
I am going to be off line for a few days so thought I would post a progress photo of Pete the Peacock. As you can see it is slow going but during one of my sleepless nights I totally coloured in the black and white photocopy of the pattern so I am hoping it speeds up my stitching as I can now carry on with one colour rather than sewing him one feather at time! At the side of Pete is a grime guard I made up yesterday evening. It's something I have been seeing a lot of on the Face book page for the Mystery stitch-a-long, and is such a good idea I wanted to have one also. For anyone who doesn't know what it is it's an elasticated 'fabric skirt' that fits around an embroidery hoop that all the spare fabric can be tucked into (I don't know how many times I've sewn some fabric from the back into my embroidery) and of course it should keep the fabric clean! (very important in a year long stitch-a-long). I haven't had a chance to try it yet but I will let you know how it goes!!
I didn't think I would be any where with internet access today but it seems I do! So I am linking up to Kathy's for some Slow Sunday Stitching. Have a nice day.

Black work, socks and peacocks!
I have two finishes to show for this week! The first is the black work sampler I have been working on for nearly a year. Its been a lovely project - I like a project that works in blocks! The pattern calls for gold beads on several of the blocks, but I am not sure it lends anything to the overall piece and in some cases takes away from the stitches. But they are on now and on they will stay! Also not sure what I am going to do with it!
The second finish is this snuggly pair of socks (I'm always amazed when they both turn out the same and they nearly match my carpet!)
The mystery stitch-a-long has taken a bit of a backseat this week - I really am not sure about the colours? But yesterday I picked it up again and carried on. Here is my progress as of last night. February has been published and it's the borders that break up the garden into sections (and you know how I love blocks to work on, so I am very happy with adding February's stitches) You can see the instructions HERE and the face book page is a real inspiration! So this is what I will be doing this afternoon while watching a Sunday afternoon film. I am also linking up with Kathy for some slow Sunday stitching
Before I go I wanted to show some photos taken from this mornings walk along the beach and around Mudeford Harbour!
