Seahorses SAL

It has been wall to wall glorious sunshine here on the South coast, which means I've spent time pottering in the garden and working on the SAL.  I have three weeks to complete this part of the SAL by Faby Reilly and I am  making good progress.

Still lots more to do!  Including outlining the seahorses (not my favourite part but it does make a difference), some squiggly bits, little stars and an outline below the seahorses.

The next part isn't being published until 12th June so lots of time!
Today for slow Sunday stitching, yes you've guessed it more of this!
Have a nice day.

Bird Houses

I've been busy making myself a denim dress but its such a lovely day today I am going to spend the afternoon in the garden working on this beauty!

I will start on the left hand bird house and see how far I get.  Tomorrow Faby Reilly publishes the next part of her SAL so I'm sure that will take priority then.
In the mean time I am linking up with Kathy for some slow Sunday stitching and wishing everyone a nice day!

Little fishies and birthday cards

I've have been beavering away at the Faby Reilly SAL sewing wallet and have nearly finished part two of the challenge.  It was such a lovely day yesterday that I managed to do some sewing in the back garden.

I know this page of the wallet is destined to hold a small pair of scissors.
I also cracked on and finished some birthday cards that will be needed soon.  These are inspired by a pattern I bought from Tigley Textiles

and some close ups!

I got a bit carried away with the top landscape card!  I much prefer the smaller portrait ones.  I won't get much chance to sew today I have the family coming over for lunch - I haven't seen my son and his partner for such along time I'm really looking forward to it.
I will link up to Kathys for some slow Sunday stitching and hopefully get a chance later today to do some sewing.

King Charles III coronation

This weeks post can't pass without me mentioning King Charles coronation yesterday.  We were glued to the television for several hours.  It was very much a religious ceremony but the music was amazing and the return procession of over 4000 military personnel from the UK and commonwealth was fantastic but it was seeing all the military (not the mounted military, that would have ruined the lawn) lined up on the back lawn of Buckingham Palace and doing three cheers for the King that bought a lump to my throat!

Here is a picture of a post box topper near my house!  Who ever makes these is very clever and has such patience.

They really make me smile.

Ive been working on the Faby Reilly SAL which I've since discovered will be a stitch wallet (I didn't really mind what it was I just love her designs).  Quite good progress since last week, but unfortunately the photo doesn't do the colours justice at all.

Lastly I've included a photo of the first foal of the season.  Seen a few days ago on our usual dog walk, I wasn't prepared to go any closer as this was a very new and very wobbly foal!  Since then we've seen several more.

I am linking up to Kathy's for some slow Sunday stitching
