Cross stitch
I made a start yesterday on my little cross stitch kit that I bought in the closing down sale on Saturday. In the immortal words of Rolf Harris 'Can you tell what it is yet?' No.....well you nearly can. I'll do some more.

Scrappy Trip Around the World
No quilting today although yesterday I cut lots of 2 1/2 x 16 " strips for scrappy trip around the world. I've now got enough to make 8 more blocks!
Today Faye and I visited our local embroidery and quilt shop because they were having a closing down sale and everything was 50% off. A bargain for us, but really sad it is going. So although there was only limited fabric left we both managed to secure several fat quarters and I also got a little 'Forever Friends' cross stitch embroidery to make for my God-daughter.

Faye also commented that I haven't posted a photo of my finished Rainbow Scrap challenge 2012. I thought I had but just in case here it is!

International Quilt Day
I didn't realise it was International Quilt Day today! I had better stop reading all the blogs I'm linked too and get quilting (trouble is they are so wonderful and inspiring I can't help myself!)

Rainbow scrap challenge
I've had fun!! Here are some more orange blocks along with an orange elephant postcard for my two God-daughters. I want to find another 6 inch block that will go with them so I can have a quilt made up in the rainbow colours but in different blocks by the end of the year.
And of course I had to catch up with a pink and purple block.

Hexies
I am a bit of an old film buff! I like nothing more than watching a Cary Grant film (he is wonderful after all) or a musical. So this mothering Sunday has seen me enjoying the film 'Singin in the rain' and sewing some hexies together - perfect day.
Sorry about the poor quality of photograph - I took it on my ipad and then couldn't download it to my blog so had to email it to myself and then post (because I had packed all the hexies away)
- COMPLICATED or what?

Orange and Poppy's
I managed to scrounge some deep orange from Faye so was able to make at least one
disappearing nine patch block! Hop over to SoScrappy using the RSC13 button at the side and see what others have made using orange as their base! Guaranteed to help inspire you.
And on Monday I started to make a decal with poppy's. Not particularly something I would choose, but once I started I really enjoyed myself!
Here I've completed the outline on the sewing machine and started to cut away the layers.
Work in progress!

Rainbow scrap challenge
Here is my fully quilted and bound Rainbow Scrap Challenge Quilt - Its very satisfying when you finish a quilt isn't it? Although I admit I haven't put a label on it yet. I think I am going to give it to my god-daughters youngest daughter - her sister has one but not the youngest!
The colour for March in the Rainbow scrap challenge is orange. I thought I had lots of orange but since going through my stash I realise I don't. Now Faye has (her favourite colour is orange) so bound to find 2 x 4 1/2 inch squares mid to dark orange in her stash.
