Bee!

We've just come back from having a few days away in the van, and it was wonderful.  The days were spent walking the dog, reading our books and of course for me lots of sewing!

Im working on another bee for my sister in laws 70th birthday. Unfortunately I couldn't finish him off because I left some of the colours at home, which wasn't very clever of me, but I should get him completed today for Slow Sunday Stitching (jump over and see what others are working on today).  I also finished my Autumn Cotton and Twine Subscription box cross stitch, but will show that next week when I've ironed and mounted it on the lovely Tilda fabric I have in my stash.

Autumn cross stitch and dog beds!

The really hot spell broke on Thursday and the rain came (and it just keeps coming!) The garden has been gasping and at least now its not!  Today is Fathers Day so have a lovely day to all those Dads out there.  I have been working on completing the groundwork for my Faby Reilly SAL project.  It's just ten outlined rectangles so no pictures as it's not terrible interesting yet.  It is quite fine work so every now and then I add some more crosses to my Autumn Cotton and Twine Subscription box, it's much less strain on my eyes and makes a nice break.

At the beginning of the week I up cycled an old duvet and quilt cover that got damaged and made a new bed for Lola.
I think she likes it?
I have several birthdays coming up so made some cards using photos taken by my DH.  Quick and easy to make and I think they will be appreciated.
I'm writing this post on Saturday so I can concentrate on the family when they come over Sunday for a BBQ (fingers crossed the rain holds off!) I will link up with Kathy's blog for slow Sunday stitching although I'm not sure I will get any stitching done today!  But hop on over and see what others are working on.

Beach huts, Autumn and a new project!!

It's been wall to wall sunshine here on the south coast of England this week and today is no exception!  We were out walking the dog at 8.30 am this morning and it was already too hot.  We chose somewhere that had several watering spots for her and a pond where she could have a swim.  Apart from working in the garden I've had a very productive week.  I finished the Beach hut 'Sandy toes and Salty kisses' cross stitch from the Cotton and Twine subscription box.

I love the colours and the Liberty fabric behind it is gorgeous.
I've also been adding the odd stitch to the Autumn cross stitch.  It's mostly added to when I have only a short time to stitch or earlier this week I was waiting in the car for DH while he had a hospital appointment - but no hurry Autumn seems a long way off!
I've also joined a stitch a long (I know I shouldn't because I have a ton of UFOs but I couldn't resist).  It's with Faby Reilly and started last week.  I've admired her work for some time and been tempted often.  It's called the Jacquie Magic Needlebook and there are more details HERE.  Not sure whats magic about it but I will let you know in due course.
Love the smokey pearl fabric!  I need a few more supplies - beads (fortunately my step mum has a big supply), sequins and some treasure braid.  Today for SLOW SUNDAY STITCHING I will hem the fabric edges, mount on the frame and start stitching the outlines.  Hop on over to Kathy's blog to have a look at what everyone else is stitching today.
To finish I thought I would show some pictures of Kew Gardens in London.  I visited this week with some ex work collegues and had a wonderful day.  I grew up in the area and lived near by until 13 years ago.  I have visited many times but not for several years!

Beach huts and binding!

I forgot to mention last week that Faye and I have both had our second vaccination (and very pleased too). We had our jabs on the same day (at different venues) along with 427458 other people! And my son, son in law and son's girlfriend all had there first dose last week too.

I started the project from the Cotton and Twine subscription box.  It felt appropriate as the sun has finally started to shine, we are in June and summer might just have arrived! Love the colours

Over the past few days I have been adding a few more stitches to the binding on Faye's RSC quilt and I am happy to say (very happy to say) that it is now complete.
That's all for now folks.  Hop over to Kathy's blog for some more slow Sunday stitching!
