Ta-Dah!

'1 year of stitches' is complete!! Wow it's a real Ta-Dah moment and hard to imagine that I've added a stitch to this project virtually every day - yep that's 365 days worth of sewing! I spent this week sewing on some bling, although it is hard to see the beads on the photo, they definitely catch the light.  I have a frame for it already so hopefully by next week I can show it mounted and on the wall!  I am linking up with Kathy's Slow Sunday Stitching for the last Sunday of 2017.  Lets hope 2018 brings lots of good health, happiness and more exciting projects!

Fabric!

Christmas has come and gone.  soooo fast but I did have a wonderful time and as you can see from the photo I received some beautiful fabric and a pattern book that I am itching to start.  I think I might join in the monthly colour scrap party that starts in January over at Soscrappy except I probably will be making little hedgehogs with the gorgeous spotty fabric in the top right hand corner!! No really scrappy at all then! And I'm not sure what I am going to do with the Kaffe Fassett charm pack.  There are some squares that will suit my Wendy Williams project I hope to start next year.... although that has been simmering on the back burner since last year!

Only a few more days until I finish my '1 year of stitches' - grand reveal on Sunday!  And in the meantime I'm off ice skating with my daughter this afternoon in Winchester (lets see if I can stay on my feet shall we?) xx

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!

Not much time for blogging / sewing at the moment.  The last few days have been filled with enjoying having the children home, walking in the forest and along the beach with the dog, sitting in a cafĂ© having cake and coffee (most days if I'm honest) and catching up on all the news!

So the only photo I have to share today is '1 year of stitches' and what ever you are doing this Christmas I hope you have a wonderful time. xx

Slow Sunday Stitching

Gosh isn't December galloping by?  It will be Christmas Eve next Sunday and before you know it, it will all be over!!

Here is the red work tag I made to go with Milly's present (Milly's Garden). It's quite large, about 5 inches across, because I couldn't get her name onto anything smaller!  It's backed with some lovely red spot fabric.

With time ticking by until the full year is up I've really put in some work with my lizard, filling in the gaps and lining the bottom edge up (you can see how much I've done on the pink section).  Only two weeks to go until it's finished (I HOPE!)  but today, after I've walked the dog I will straighten up the orange corner and carry on adding at least a stitch a day!

Pop over to Kathy's Blog so you can see what other people are working on at the moment.

Slow Sunday Stitching

I've suddenly realised I only have three more weeks to finish this if I want to keep to '1 year of stitches' which means I'm going to have to do more stitches per day!  I've straightened the blue and green line up at the top but need to do quite a bit more along the bottom and the yellow curves in also.  Which means today for slow Sunday Stitching I will be working on this!  You can see what other people are working on today HERE.

But I also want to try and finish the red work candle mat.  All the embroidery is completed, it now needs the ric rak and bias binding added!

And some close ups!

1 year of stitches and socks

It's been a really busy weekend with Christmas parties and Birthday parties (I wish we could have spread it out a bit over December but that's the way it goes!) - three in four days.  Consequently not very much sewing has taken place (quite a bit of drinking and lots of eating has though).  But that said I have been keeping up with '1 year of stitches'.  This week I want to try and concentrate on straightening the top line and filling in some of the blue and green spaces.

These are the socks I knitted for my BiLs 70th birthday.  My SiL didn't believe I had knitted them myself because I had pinned a label to them!  But hopefully he liked them and his feet will keep nice and snug - especially when he's gardening in his wellies!
