At my textile class last Monday we dabbled in some silk painting. I have done it before many (many) years ago, so luckily had everything I needed. But it was great fun to have another go. And part of the fun of going to a class is to see how everyone else interprets the brief and of course for a good natter!! Here are a couple of cards I made - in fact they have both been used for Birthday cards already!
Today is bank holiday Monday and as is usual with our British weather its rained all day. So that gave me an opportunity to make some more bunting for Faye's wedding at the end of July. 45 feet completed only another 40 to go!!!

RSC - green and other things!
Wow! I blinked and April disappeared and now it feels as if May has almost gone! Here's a quick catch up: Faye is getting married (yay) so wedding planning has taken over my life!!! It started with me panic buying a dress, (do you know how difficult it is to find a mother of the bride dress?) Followed by a jacket, shoes, bag and hat, which was closely followed by a bout of it's the wrong dress! That resulted in me taking everything back to the shop - the shop I must admit were fantastic about my jitters. I then tried on lots of other dresses and realised that the one I had originally bought is actually rather beautiful and what ever possessed me to take it back in the first place.................? Yes you have probably guessed by now that I went out and re-bought the original dress, closely followed by the jacket, shoes, bag and hat!! I'm now a very happy bunny with my mother of the bride outfit and I'm going to look great - sigh!
You can probably tell that sewing has been rather low on my agenda recently but I have managed to put a couple more hexies together. I am sure that you will see far more interesting green projects over at the Rainbow Scrap Challenge 2014 blog! Jump over using the button in the side bar!
At textile class on Monday we started to add some texture and movement to the felt we made in the class in April. The round orange mushroom shape is cut out from the other piece I made and free machine sewn in place to give some added interest. I rather like that bit, but apart from that I really have no idea what I'm doing! But it is fun!
